My practice is located in Liverpool, New York, a suburb of Syracuse. I bought an existing practice that had no written management policies or procedures. Production was good, but the collections were not acceptable. Even though I have an MBA, I knew that I needed some help to get the practice on the right track.
I received a video from Sterling Management and after viewing it, decided their management technology warranted further discussion.
I contacted Sterling and discussed my goals with a senior consultant; he assured me they were attainable. He also encouraged me to contact other doctors. They all told me, “Sterling delivers what they claim”. My wife and I decided to invest in Sterling Management technology.
I went to California for management training. I worked on conflict resolution, how to better manage my staff and how to manage the practice rather than it managing me. I then received management training at my office. We implemented new written policies: correct positioning of staff, collection techniques, and management by statistics and of course an employee bonus system. We now use the statistics to monitor our progress and schedule to meet production goals.
I am now well on my way to achieving and exceeding the goals I set for the practice. Our production has increased an average of $10,000 per month and collections average 97%. I feel more comfortable addressing conflict and with my role as chief executive officer.
I believe that within a year and with the help of the Sterling Management techniques we will outgrow our existing office space and max out its production capability. I will gladly look for a larger office.
I would encourage anyone not satisfied with their current practice to give Sterling a call and let them show you the road to success.
